Gates of Victoria Memorial, Queen's remnant, East India Company !!
A random thought crossed my mind (rather our, me and my roomate) further intrigued by Veen's Post What and How would we (Indians) have been today if the British had not left India?
Offcourse it's a secret !! As we will never Know! But what IF, they were still there ?
We are anyway following and doing what they did!
Hierarchy and Bureaucracy is our pride, We write and speak British English!
Would so many of us leave India to study abroad?
Would we have bridges and building collapsing?
Would we have unmonitored floods and weather?
Would we not have more schools and colleges?
Would we not have more rail tracks and roads?
We sure would not have any forests left, like none in UK!
Would we be called as British Indian, or Indian British or Colonized British or Colonized Indians?
Would we have made silk ourselves much earlier rather than just cotton?
Would we have a parliament with uneducated Indians or educated British or educated British Indians?
Would we have not bridged the gap between the rich and poor?
Would we have atleast 50% of cleanliness, organization, and honesty at present UK?
Would we still have so many bomb blasts?
Would we still have reservation issues? (May be British Quota and Indian Quota) :) !!
Would we still have so much haterate for Muslims?
Would we still pointlessly blame and bring religion into everything?
Would we still have and follow all the classification system that exists in our country?
Would we still have so many terror groups?
Would we still have Jharkhand, Uttaranchal separated from parent states?
Would we still cash on 'Divide and Rule policy?'
Would we be any different from 400 years of slavery (Mughals, East Indian Company) ?
Would we still be called Indians, proud Indians, slave Indians, poor Indians, or would we become a mini Australia with time?
.................

I wonder !!! WILL have to put more thought on it it in some other time.. BUT I do seriously wonder, what it could have been had they not left us to the one born on 2nd October ?
What do you guys think?
This post is definately related to my Bong Connection given that the East India Company set their footstep in Kolkata !!

I appreciate ur emotions however I do not see anything wrong in Uttarakhand being separated from Uttar Pradesh.
Thanks Jhangora, waise to there is nothing wrong in dividing the whole country in small small pieces..!!
Either ways...only few selected people (or the parliament owners) are only going to benefit!!
Thanks for dropping by and welcome to my blog
Don't wanna enter into an argument but we do need smaller states.I am from Uttarahand (ofcourse I was born in Uttar Pradesh) & aspirations of the people have not been fulfilled after creation of a separate state. However I think administratively this is the right way to go forward. How many nations in the world have population equal to U P's?
Hi Jhangora,
Thanks for getting back. Am partially from Uttaranchal (Dehradun) as well. So am well aware of the improvement post separation!!
All am saying is creating smaller administrative boundaries will not change anything in the country unless there is a sea change in the attitude of people. And we have many state and region in the country which needs or has undergone separation.
As far population goes, India has 2nd highest (or are we already no 1) population in the world!!!
Its a national issue than just a state issue!!
:) thanks for mentioning my post!!
and to your thoughts ??! i m not sure!
we would be called slaves behind our acks..
i guess we would be more british than Indians
and the administrations would be much better
that is to jot dwn very few nice points..
but we would never be blogging :)
and then we would not know our roots[ however bad they are]
and we would be slaves.
yes
